Release of High Oleic, Low Saturated Lines

The Hulke Lab is proud to announce four recent oilseed sunflower germplasms, HOLS1, HOLS2, HOLS3, and HOLS4.  These oilseeds were developed to provide increased diversity in fatty acid composition in the seed’s oil, elevated oleic acid levels above current high oleic inbred lines, and reduced saturated fatty acid composition.  The recurrent parent of the genetic stocks being released have resistance to Sclerotinia head rot (Sclerotinia sclerotiorum), and also to imidazolinone herbicides.  The seed will be available this Fall in time for planting in the southern hemisphere, and may be obtained directly from Brent Hulke.
